Lyrics

Through the centuries
Ever since the birth of mankind
I've lived beside them during the day
Then hunted for their flesh by night
In my true form
A ravenous fiend in a werewolf's shape
Sinister in mind
I am the scourge of humankind

Time grows short
For very soon the dawn will come
And with it my nocturnal form
Will again hide beneath my skin
Leaving a beguiling shell
Sculpted in the image of a man
And thus disguised
I walk amongst my ignorant victims

I am the one of whom they speak
In deadly fear of falling asleep

Come the night all children weep

For their flesh is mine to take
To ease my bloodlust and hunger sate
They unaware in beds doth lay
Of me choosing them as prey
Yes their lives are mine to take
As death is theirs to anticipate
For little children whom of mercy pray
The coming of dawn will seem so far away

I am the one of whom they speak
In deadly fear of falling asleep

And as the morning disperse of the night
Butchered children are revealed by its light

Through the centuries
Ever since the birth of mankind
I've lived beside them during the day
Then hunted for their flesh by night
In my true form
A ravenous fiend in a werewolf's shape
Sinister in mind
I am the scourge of humankind

I am the one of whom they speak
In deadly fear of falling asleep

Come the night all children weep

For the light of dawn to come
For the ravenous werewolf to be gone
For they know that death do come to all
Who receives a visitor past nightfall[1]
