Lyrics

Nighttime - I see through eyes set in a werewolf's head
My mind has left my flesh lying dormant home in bed
In the shadow of a pine I'm watching and waiting, anticipating
The prey to be now will see that from me there is no escaping

An unknowing deer stands in a glade
It has not caught my scent and isn't yet afraid
Time to spring the trap; one quick slash - its tendon will snap
Wounded it heads for a field. unto death it soon will yield

I'm wide awake, but yet I sleep
Into trance I have fallen deep
When the dark of night spreads its cape
My mind projects a wolven shape

Beneath unclouded skies where the moon shares its light
A nightmare is acted out upon a plain of snowy white
Hooves, breaking the crust, not fast enough, so they get stuck
The level of panic rises, as it realizes that it's out of luck

Pleading eyes they seem to say:
Let me be, please go away
To hunt and feed is my intent
You are just flesh and I will not relent

I slowly walk towards the prey
For I am certain now that it will not get away
Deliberately I am waiting, for its fear seem to be escalating
Time seem to stand still until I lunge to deliver the kill

The hunt is over, it's time to break the spell
As the morning sun returns me to my shell
The taste of blood is all that now remain
Of the deer my wolven self previously had slain[1]
